House Chair

Responsible for maintaining the safety and cleanliness of the Club by performing regular inspections.

House Chair    

  1. Building Maintenance and Alterations  Aim for a comfortable bridge-playing environment
    1. Check that all light bulbs are working 
    2. Ensure equipment in the Club is in good condition and arrange for any repairs to be undertaken when necessary 
    3. Supervise reading of utility meters.
    4. Keep check on electrical safety. 
    5. Oversee garden maintenance. 
  2. Housekeeping
    1. Stocking: checking and replacing consumables as needed, e. g. kitchen supplies – tea, coffee, biscuits plus ensuring adequate supply of paper napkins, towels cleaning materials etc. 

 

  1. Health and Safety  Adhere to health and safety rules:
    1. Hygiene: ensure the Club should follow normal hygiene precautions where food is provided. 
    2. Club members should take reasonable care for their own health and safety and that of others.
    3. Safety: check that only Members who are trained and have responsibility for using equipment are allowed to use equipment (e.g. ventilation system)
    4. First Aid Equipment: check bi-annually that the ‘First Aid’ box is fully equipped and contents are ‘in date’, and that it is consistent with current regulations.
    5. Accidents: any accident should be written up in the ‘accident book’ located in the office by the person in charge at the Club at the time of any accident (e.g. Director, Teacher) and reported to the Housekeeping Chair.  In case of an emergency the Chair (or other committee member if Chair not available) should be notified at the time of the incident.

    1. Submit all receipts to Treasurer for reimbursement
